The Horrors Of Hell

It is altogether appropriate for believers to warn unbelievers of the wrath of God. If we love someone we will warn them of the dangers that they do not see. Unbelievers and even many believers think we should only speak about the love of God when trying to convert sinners. They are wrong. I have heard countless testimonies of people who were frightened into receiving Christ as Saviour. The wrath of God should not be spoken of to the exclusion of the love of God. Some can be drawn to God by seeing His love. Some can be won by kindness and compassion. Some can be won by seeing our righteous lives. Others must be frightened to flee into the arms of God.

Jude 1:2-23: And of some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

Because God loves us He tells us over and over and over in the Bible very specifically and unmistakably what will befall unforgiven sinners that reject His love and forgiveness. We should give all of the truth God gives us to unbelievers.

1 John 4:9: In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

The Wrath Of God

Hebrews 10:31: It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Matthew 13:41-42: The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Matthew 22:13: Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Matthew 24:50-51: The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Revelation 21:8: But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Revelation 14:11: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
